1941 Cadillac Seriews 62 Deluxe Coupe Review

This is a 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Deluxe Coupe for sale. This is part of the prestigious Richard Bury collection, and like his other cars, this one is in impeccable condition and one of three in the collection certified with the designation of Full Classic Car by the CCCA. This classic Cadillac has been restored inside and out, top and bottom. It is finished in its original colors of Cimarron Green Metallic over Berkshire Green Metallic with gray wool interior.

The 346 cid / 135 bhp flathead V8 engine was recently rebuilt and is detailed throughout. The 3-speed transmission is also freshly rebuilt. As you would expect from a vehicle of this caliber it is in excellent mechanical condition.

Here is some information about this model from the sign used in the display for the vehicle when shown at Concourse De Elegance appearances:

"The Cadillac Series 62 was produced by Cadillac from 1940 through 1964 when it was renamed the Cadillac Calais and continued under that badge until 1976. Originally designed to replace the entry level Series 65, it became the Cadillac Series 6200 in 1959, and remained that until becoming the Calais five, years later. The Series 62 featured a low sleek style with chrome window reveals, more slant in the windshield, and a curved rear window. Headlights were built into the nose of the fenders, replacing the separate "torpedo" style lights used for years previously, and provision for built-in accessory fog lights was provided under the headlights. Three chrome spears appeared on the rear section of all four fenders. Rear fender skirts were standard. All Cadillacs shared the same 346 cu/in 135 horsepower, L-head V8 that year, with power rising to 150 horsepower. The 1941 was the first to use the famous Cadillac egg-crate grill and it also featured a 'Coffin' style hood. This landmark year in Cadillac styling continued Cadillac's role as an unquestioned advanced styling leader."

This is a very rare model and it is certainly one of the nicest in existence today. Have a look through the photo gallery just below this description and enjoy the short video to fully appreciate this 1941 Cadillac Series 62 Deluxe Coupe for sale.
