1972 VW Super Beetle Convertible for Sale
Very Original, Runs and Drives Great!
We have a nice classic 1972 VW Super Beetle Convertible for sale. This is the first year for the Super Beetle and this is a nice example of the two-year only model (1971-1972). This car starts, runs and drives great. It has nice, shiny chrome bumpers, shiny headlight rings and the chrome on the door handles is in good shape. This is a car you can jump, turn the key and enjoy as is.
The most important thing to look for when shopping for classic vws (or any classic car) is rust, and this is one of the most original and solid convertibles I've seen. The wheel wells, frame rails, fenders and rocker panels are all in great shape. The only area of rust I spoted on the whole car is the area under the battery tray (under the back seat and this replacement section is reproduced). Other than that even the rest of the floors seem to be nice and solid. I just sold a bug convertible to a guy who was willing to pay $15,000 for a convertible that didn't even have support rails! (I gave it to him for $10,100). But that car had nearly a 100 point paint job, so if you wanted to invest $2-$3k into a paint job you should have a car that people would be willing to buy for a price in the mid teens. Classic Volkswagens always seem to be appreciating in value and as gas prices continue to rise I suspect these smart, economical and easy to park cars will become even more valuable than they are today. The buy-it-now price is low but don't let that scare you away. It's a great car and it's super fun.
The car starts, runs and drives great so if you don't mind a few cosmetic imperfections here and there then this is something you can jump in and enjoy exactly as is. This is a very fun car and you'll get thumbs-up every time you drive it!
