1977 VW Westfalia Camper Van for Sale

Up for sale is a beautiful 1977 Pop Top VW Camper Bus. As the owner of VintageVWCars.com I've sold quite a few VW Buses, but I've never been able to offer anything nearly this nice--until now! This Camper spent most of its life in the dry California Climate. It was purchased in California and driven back to Minnesota in 2002 and has been stored winters since. The body is extremely straight and rust free. I've never seen paint on a VW Bus shine like this one. It looks GREAT! The interior has also been completely renovated. The bus features the following:

  • A Rebuilt 2.0L Engine--the strongest VW engine available for Buses!
  • Dual Weber Carburetors for better "get-up-and-go"
  • Aftermarket Anti-Sway Bars front and rear for improved stability
  • Comfortable Aftermarket Front Seats--great for long drives
  • Pop Top With New Canvas, New Screens and New Seals
  • Sliding Privacy Panel Separating Top Bunk from Lower Quarters!
  • New Brakes, New Tires, New Shocks, New Ball Joints
  • All fuel lines & gas tank filler tubes recently replaced
  • Transmission & Clutch Redone 20k Miles Ago

This camper does have RV hookup, but the hookup hasn't been plugged in for some time so I can't guarantee its current condition (no pun intended). There is a CD player sound system that sounds great. The radio isn't hardwired so it doesn't save preset stations, but it also won't drain your battery when stored for any length of time. The front passenger seat is actually a power seat, and if you touch wires together the seat will adjust. But it could use a switch to operate a little more professionally. The rear seat is missing the top brackets that mount to the wall. The turn signals work on this bus but they must be manually "clicked". Replacing the turn signal relay should fix this problem. There is a stock front grill included with the bus. It has been beautifully painted white, and in my eyes installing this would really finish this bus (it installs with simple screws). Also included are the stock front turn signal lenses that work with the stock grill. There is a convenient interior light that works for the rear cabin, and when the pop top is up this light helps illuminate the upper sleeping quarters.

These camper buses are a TON of FUN to own. In my mind 1977 is one of the best years for VW campers ever. Earlier model years only had a small child cot that unfolded in the pop top area. Later model year Vanagons changed body styles and in my eyes, no longer captured the nostalgia and personality of the VW Microbus. Not only is this one of the best model years for the VW Camper Bus, but it's the nicest example of one that I've seen in years. This is a rare opportunity to have a very nice camper for your very own. These VW Buses bring in some pretty competitive bidding, but winning this auction means more than getting this great VW bus. You'll also win a future filled with great camping and travel fun with yourself and your friends and family. Don't miss out!
