I have a very nice original 1974 VW Westfalia Camper bus for sale. It is a complete camper with a sink, stove, and a refrigerator. It is the first model year with a full bed up top in the pop top so this one sleeps 4 adults comfortably.
The bus is in great, original condition. It was owned by the original owner since 1974 up until last Fall. The original owner was in the navy and back in '73 or so he special ordered this pop top camper bus and then went out to sea with the navy. When he came back a year and a half later the bus was waiting for him at the dealership. This one was ordered without a closet in the back so this is the only Westfalia I have ever seen that has a wider rear bed that spans the entire width of the bus. When the bed is not folded down the rear seat is also wider than any other camper bus out there on the market today.
Since this Westfalia Camper was with the original owner until last fall (2008) the bus comes with every receipt since new! A new engine was installed about 60k miles back and this Westy runs and drives great. I was actually planning to keep this Bus forever in my private collection but some things have come up so I must make some more room. Within the past month to get the bus ready for sale a new flywheel seal has been installed so the bus should be fairly dry and nearly free of any oil leaks. I also have put a single carburetor on the bus but if you would like the original, duel carburetors I can let those go with the sale (the choke spring is broken on one of the original carbs). The single carb set up should work even better than the original set up.
I have put over 1000 miles on this bus just this past summer. I have taken quite a few weekend road trips and this bus is truly a pleasure to drive. I really hate to give it up but it will make a great member of the family for the next owners...
As far as I can tell this Camper Bus is in all original paint except the nose and front doors. The front was painted a long while back probably to fix paint chips. There are no sign of any accidents ever and the bus is nearly rust free. There are a few small spots of bubbling in the front dog legs (below the front doors) and there are close-up shots of those areas in the close up gallery below. Otherwise the bus is rust-free. This is overall a really nice, original example of a Westfalia Camper.
The bus is Yosemite Yellow with a blue and green plaid interior, and as a testament to how well the bus has been cared for over the years the entire interior is all original and in nearly perfect shape! This one is definitely a keeper.
Feel free to call with any questions. Thank you for checking out my listing! John Snell - - SOLD
