We are excited to offer this fantastic 1974 Chrome bumper MGB GT for sale. The car runs and drives beautifully. It originally came from the northwest so it's a nice, solid car. (Since the car has been in Minnesota it has been stored during the winters.) As a testament to the originality of the body it even has the original seams next to the reverse lamps on the rear valance. Those seams are often filled on cars that have had multiple paint jobs over the years. This car has been repainted only once. The MGB GT shown here has been lowered 1" equally on all four corners and as a result it takes corners like a go cart - it's super sporty and really fun to drive.
The engine just went through a complete re-build with high compression polished and ported heads. It's been dyno'd at 90 HP at the rear wheels. As seen and heard in the videos (via the link below this written description) the motor sounds great -- it's obvious the engine work was done well. The odometer reads 16,990 though actual mileage on the car is probably 116,990. The horn is currently inoperable but the wipers, turn signals and other electrical including the electronic overdrive work great.
The interior has been lined with insulation under the carpet to help quiet the cabin, so driving this peppy little sports car will give you a nice, solid and comfortable feeling.
Extras, Ad-on's, and Features:
Hagerty insurance and Classic Motorsports say this is the next MG to really jump in value. Replacement cost has been appraised at $12,000. This would be a fine addition to any classic car collection, but this reliable MG would also make a great first collector car. This car is one that will not disappoint, and you will feel proud showing this car to even the most avid MG enthusiast members of the MG Owners Club. Please take some time to go through the two photo galleries (the links are just below this text). Enjoy the videos of the car racing through the windy hills. Please ask any questions you may have prior to bidding, and good luck winning the auction on this classic MGB GT!!
