1972 VW Karmann Ghia Review

This is a great looking 1972 VW Karmann Ghia for sale. Karmann Ghias were first introduced in late 1955 for the 1956 model year and were produced through 1974. 1972 saw the final design of this beautiful unibody sports car, and this is a great example. This is a good find if you're looking to buy a reliable Karmann Ghia.

There are receipts showing lots of mechanical work done on this car over the years. Work includes new ball joints and work on the fuel system and brakes. The car has been well maintained and it starts up and runs and idles perfectly. The car has new tires. Even the windshield washers work! I have a collection of over 10 nice classic Volkswagens myself and not one car has working windshield squirters! You can see my amazement in the videos that are included in this listing.

The paint is nice and the color is very vibrant. The interior is nice with no tears in the seats. The dash does have a few blemishes in the plastic but the headliner and carpet are all in good shape. There are a few blemishes in the paint including some bubbling which I have photographed and tried to show in the photo gallery below. But overall the car looks great. The trunk has the original liner and original paint. The color is a good match to the much newer repaint. The paint was done by the previous owner so it has been on the car for at least several years.

The car needs nothing to enjoy regularly. If I were to buy this car I would see about adjusting the clutch (brakes and clutch cable and valves are all adjusted manually and they need adjusting periodically). The fuel gauge doesn't work but the odometer and speedometer do work. (In many of my own classic VWs the gas gauge doesn't work so I keep track of the odometer and get gas every 200 miles or so.) The fuel gauge doesn't work but the odometer and speedometer do work. (In many of my own classic VWs the gas gauge doesn't work so I keep track of the odometer and get gas every 200 miles or so.) The brakes feel good and the car rides and steers nicely. The floor pans look to be original and they are in very good condition. Rusted floor pans are a very common problem with classic Volkswagens so getting a car like this that has a great, solid floor pan certainly sets you up for years of enjoyment.

I have over 200 photos and even videos just below this written description so you can get a great feel for this Karmann Ghia. I ship cars to buyers Worldwide on a regular basis so I am happy to help get a quote for driveway to driveway shipping. Please look through the photos and let me know if you have any questions or feel free to message or call me if you would like to buy this 1972 Karmann Ghia we have for sale!!!!!
