1964 Porsche 356 SC for sale from Sunset Classics

This is a gorgeous example of a 1964 Porsche 356 sc for sale. This model is an original Porsche 356C SC and it is still powered by its original 1600cc, 95hpr engine. The current owner bought the car from Texas when the car had just 80k miles on it. The mileage today is 106,462. This great running example is perhaps the nicest Porsche 356 SC you will find available for sale today.

To find a Porsche 356C that runs and drives as well as this one is a true blessing. To find an original Porsche 356 SC for sale makes the find even more exciting. The total production for the Porsche 356C (with its desirable 4 wheel disc brakes) was fewer than 17,000 cars. Very nice Porsche 356Cs (or especially SCs) do not change hands very often. The owner of this Porsche 356 SC has had the car for 14 years.

There are so many good qualities in this SC Porsche that it’s hard to know where to start the conversation. But since the body is so critical on these classic Porsche 356 unibody cars I guess we will start there. This car lived most of its life in Texas where the climate is nice and dry. As a result of living in such a favorable climate, this 356 Porsche still has its original floors and rocker panels and they are in great shape. All panels on the car are original, and the panel fit has scored 13/15, 14/15, & 15/15 and 9/10 as shown by the competition scoring sheets shown at the end of the close-up photo gallery.

Another great attribute to this particular Porsche 356 SC is the fun coloring. White over red is the correct color combination for the car. The red leather is really breathtaking against the smoothly designed white Porsche 356C body. White curves coupled with red leather is about as good as it gets. The paint is at least 10 years old so there are a few small imperfections. The few, small imperfections in the paint can be viewed closely in the aptly named close-up photo gallery below. Also in the photo gallery you will find score sheets from several Porsche shows. The sheets rate more than just panel fit so you can page through those reports to see what the judges think of this car. For your benefit there is also the results from a pre-purchase inspection done this summer of 2011.

This particular example is one of the first Porsche 356Cs produced. It was manufactured in July of 1963. The car comes with it’s five original 7/63 date stamped wheels. The original tool kit and jack are in the trunk.

As you noticed the front seats have the optional headrests. One of the videos below shows the passenger seat reclining all the way back. It pretty much goes without saying the interior really is nice in this car. The original radio lights up but the string to change the station isn’t getting the job done anymore. The tachometer and odometer and speedometer all work as they should. Even the windshield washer system works in this car!
