Up for auction is this beautiful 1962 Oldsmobile Starfire. This extremely original example of the desirable 1962 Starfire features an original, unrestored interior (except for the brand new headliner), extremely low miles (only 69,333!), and from what we can tell much of the Provincial White paint may even be original. Service stickers show the car had 63,856 miles in 1981 and only 65,787 in 1985. The photos really speak for themselves on this car. Page through the galleries to view the incredibly clean trunk panels and carpet, and take special notice of all of the little details that are unique to this era Starfire.
As a telling indicator of the time during which this car was designed the dashboard includes both his and her ashtrays! Neither ash tray looks as though it has ever been used. Other unique features on this car include a light on the emergency brake pedal that lights up when the e-brake is engaged! There is a decorative trunk release handle in the glove box that still works to release the trunk. There is a "vertigo" style swirl in the center of the steering wheel and the design is repeated again in the face of the clock on the dashboard. There are many other fun and decorative items throughout the interior that all still work. The original radio still works and the car has both front and rear speakers. The rear speaker have a really cool art deco Starfire logo. The clock and the power antenna are the only items that we are aware of that don't work. But all of the rest of the gauges work like new.
The car has power steering and power brakes. The chrome side panels look very nice. The Starfire runs and drives excellently! It has an ultra high compression 394 cubic inch V8 with 345 horsepower so it really moves. You can hear the motor run in the videos below.
